OMMA Magazine Recognizes Covario as the Top Search Agency Three Years in a Row
SAN DIEGO and NEW YORK, Nov. 25, 2013 – Covario, Inc., a leading independent search and content marketing firm, has been recognized by OMMA (Online Media, Marketing and Advertising) magazine as the 2013 Search Agency of the Year for an unprecedented third year in a row.
Covario was singled out by OMMA for its “smarter approach” to delivering award-winning paid and organic search programs, integrated with innovative social media and content marketing strategies, to global enterprise brands and national direct marketers.
The San Diego-based agency was also cited for another year of strong double-digit growth and for its client loyalty, with Net Promoter Scores that soared into the 60-plus percentile range – exceptional for both business-to-business organizations as well as digital agencies.
Earlier in the year, Covario was ranked by Advertising Age magazine among the nation’s 10 largest search agencies, with annual growth exceeding all of the larger agencies with at least $20 million in annual revenue.
Covario also experienced significant international growth in 2013 from both new and existing clients. The firm now has more than 200 search and digital marketing professionals around the world, extending from across the U.S., as well as to Europe, China, Japan, Singapore, Canada and Brazil.
Over the last year, the firm also successfully integrated two technology company acquisitions in the local SEO and social media marketing space.
Just this month, Covario named former Managing Directors Mike Gullaksen and Jeff Johnson as its Co-CEOs, who, together with CFO/COO Claire Long, now form the company’s new leadership team. Earlier this year, Gullaksen was also named by BtoB magazine for inclusion in its annual “Who’s Who in Search and Digital Marketing.”
In 2013, Covario also added Nick Brien, the former CEO of McCann Worldgroup, to its Board of Directors.
Other key agency executives include: Collin Cornwell and Matt Kropp, who both serve as vice presidents of global account strategies; LuRae Lumpkin, vice president, global paid media services; and Jeff MacGurn, vice president, global earned media services.
“We’re thrilled being recognized by OMMA as the Search Agency of the Year three times in a row,” Johnson said. “It’s a testament to our team’s talent, passion, innovation and partnership with our growing roster of incredible clients.”
Covario and the other 2013 Agency of the Year award winners will be honored at an award ceremony in New York on Jan. 16, 2014. More details about Covario, along with the top agencies in other categories, will also be featured in the January edition of OMMA magazine.
Looking ahead, Gullaksen added, “We are planning for more rapid growth, embracing smarter search and smarter content marketing strategies to deliver greater ROI for our valued clients. We’ll do this by focusing on our greatest assets – people, processes and technologies.”
